My hubby had been a hug Def Leppard fan, as a teen he would cruise in the back of his cousin's VW bug listening to Def Leppard. So he brought into our marriage his Def Leppard cassettes. (yes, cassettes!)
I grew to love Def Leppard and I have many fond memories of fun times dancing on our houseboat trips to Pour Some Sugar On Me.
Today my sister emailed me a link from YouTube to Nine Lives by Def Leppard. Featured on the song is Tim McGraw. Tim McGraw? Yep!
Here's is where my world's collided.
Tim McGraw is part of my adult life. Tim is only a year older than I am, and when he sang In My Next 30 Years, I couldn't help but relate. And then his It's Your Love, with Faith Hill caused me to swoon. And when I took my sister, who was pregnant, to see him in concert 6 years ago, the videos he showed of his family almost had me in tears.
So today, when I saw Tim singing with Def Leppard, it was the strangest sensation. How could my childhood band be singing with my adult musical love? I actually liked it! Not just the memories, but the song too.
You can view it at http://www.youtube.com. Tell me what you think of it.
Have your childhood memories ever collided with something in your current life? What was it, and how did it make you feel?
