My Latest Passion...

I know, I know... I haven't been a good little blogger since I returned from vacation. Well, I have a new passion and instead of blogging I've been spending hours on researching it.

Actually, it's not that new of a passion. It's photography, and if you've ever looked at my profile you may have seen that I have a photo blog. I think I have a decent eye for it... but the big problem has been equipment. I have a little Kodak point and shoot. (Z712) It does take good pictures considering what I paid for it, and it even has the capability to shoot in Aperture, Shutter or Manual. So, I've actually learned quite a bit from it.  I taught myself by taking a photo in Auto and then I'd look at the settings the camera gave to it and then decide what I could do to improve on it. (I took the photo on the right with it yesterday morning on my way out the door to go clean.)

But, back before my point & shoot, (p&s) I had a Minolta 35mm that took great photos. Problem is, digital came along and I couldn't justify paying to develop pictures that may or may not be good. So, I switched to p&s. I've seriously been considering seeing if I could do senior or sports photography and when I mentioned it to hubby, he said he wanted me to try it!

Now, I'm not silly, I know I need practice, practice, practice... and reading, reading, reading, and probably a few courses... but, I realized not long ago that I've never had a job that I loved. Very few that I even liked. I would love this! And, the good thing is, I don't have to rush out and find the first Bride and Groom in full gown and tuxedos, I still have my part-time cleaning biz to make some money with until I can get the hang of it established.

I've picked out my camera... the Canon Xsi and I know I want a 50mm lens...


I'm still researching what other two lenses and equipment I want need, (suggestions are welcomed!) but I'm so excited! Maybe it will workout, maybe not, but either way I will have art and memories that I can keep forever!

It Was The Beaches Fault...

Wow! I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've posted! Bad, Bad, Blogger!!

It started innocently enough... with a real vacation! We headed South for a eight days - pretty much on the spur of the moment. Our friends were going and invited us along, and so we up and went.  Take a look at the fun we had.

Then when we returned I was still in vacation mode...  I've had to work three days this week but other than that I've not wanted to return to the real world.  I've not finished my garden or worked out or blogged or anything really productive...

But, I'm ready to get back.  I have lots to tell.  Like how I came face-to-face with a seven foot snake in my house, and what I think of my new steam mop and the Cover Girl makeup I'm trying out as a Bzzz Agent.

Well, it may not be exciting enough to be on the big screen and no one will need their plasma mounts to watch the program of it. But, I do hope you'll stay tuned anyway...
